Mystic Bridge Pale Ale Written and performed by Craig Edwards, September 2010
My spirits being weary by the river I did wander
to view the tide as day began to pale
I watched the drawbridge rising when a maiden sat down by me
and from a bottle poured a glass of ale
“I see you are a stranger by your looks you are downcast
Here’s a potion that will wash away your woe
It will lift your spirits higher than the top of yonder mast
that through the drawbridge presently does go.”
Oh the glory in that glass
Flowing like the river’s tide
My heart was filled and lifted like a sail
Here’s to hops and barley, and the brewmaster’s sure hand,
there’s no better brew than Mystic Bridge Pale Ale
She poured out another glass and we drank each other’s health
And watched the stars above the river shine
And the golden brown ale sparkled like my true love’s sparkling eyes
And she pledged her heart and said she would be mine
All you lovers of good ale, if you have a mind to ramble
Turn your path down by the Mystic River side
And bring along a bottle or two of Mystic Bridge Pale Ale
And by good fortune you may find youself a bride
Oh the glory in that glass
Flowing like the river’s tide
My heart was filled and lifted like a sail
Here’s to hops and barley, and the brewmaster’s sure hand,
there’s no better brew than Mystic Bridge Pale Ale
